Word learning is the foundation of elementary school language education. Convenient tools will help promote learning.

The Elementary Chinese Dictionary is a mobile learning application developed in accordance with the Hong Kong Primary School Learning Word List and the Commonly Used Word Forms compiled by the Hong Kong Education Bureau.

This app contains 4762 Chinese characters in the Commonly Used Words and Shapes table. You can use the radicals or directly input Chinese characters to search and display the strokes of the search words, Cangjie code, Putonghua Pinyin, Cantonese Pinyin, variant characters, simple English explanation, and related words.

<li>Bookmark function to save and categorize characters and words for easy revision</li>
<li>Download worksheet function to create custom character group worksheets based on your requirements</li>
<li>Direct input of characters to create worksheets</li>
<li>Option to choose grid styles (star-shaped, grid-shaped)</li>
<li>Allows characters to be placed on the same line for creating word-based worksheets</li>
<li>Supports English interface</li>

In single-character searches, individual characters are displayed first, followed by related words. In multi-character searches, each character appears sequentially followed by related words. English searches present words or phrases related to the English query.

In the bookmark folder section, multiple characters can be directly added to create worksheets. Tapping on a word pops up options to 'add to bookmarks' and 'create worksheets'.

The Elementary School Character List includes 3,171 characters from "Hong Kong Primary School Character Research," categorized by stroke sequence in different learning stages: Stage 1 (Primary 1 to Primary 3) with 2,169 characters and Stage 2 (Primary 4 to Primary 6) with 1,002 characters.

Please note that some Chinese character variations in this app may differ from those seen in books, computers, or fonts used during parental education sessions due to unique characteristics of Hong Kong printed textbooks. It is important to understand that the shapes, stroke order, etc., provided in this app are for reference only and are not the sole prescriptive standard.
